ATTENTION: Fedora yahoo mail users! You should stop using yahoo mail as your mail provider. Multiple times now Fedora has gotten flagged as a bad or spam domain because of a user action. I don't think these are intentional DOS's but the workflow is this:
1. Sign up for a mailing list or news letter. 2. Flag news letter as spam 3. Yahoo blocks the DOMAIN so now no yahoo users get mail from that domain.
If fedoraproject mail is important to you, use another mail provider.
Remember: Friends don't let friends use yahoo.

In ubuntu-cameroon mailing-list[1] we are experiencing the same issue and we have reached to the same possible workflow. Unfortunately for us, many cameroonian users relie too much on yahoo and many people doesn't read our advices posted on the wiki and some websites :(.
And I have no solution right now...

It looks like it has been solved. It works again for yahoo subscribers :) | | Maybe it is simpler than this | (Link) |

We also had the case for the french Mandriva users association. Except there was only one person with a yahoo account, it was the president. My own hypothesis was : "there is a spam sent to a alias that we managed" ( in our case, contact@ or something similar ) "the user see the spam, and report as such" ( he do not look at where it was sent, especially since it may requires some technical expertise ) "yahoo deduce wrongly that we relayed spam" ( as the sender of spam is usually obfuscate, the only thing you can be sure is your direct peer ).
So basically, the user, not knowing exactly what yahoo does, is not to blame. And well, I also think yahoo try to do the right thing, even if they are imperfect in this case. | From: | (Anonymous) |
